3D animation is the creation of moving image in a three dimensional environment, 3D animation mimics realistic processes such as shadows and highlights, reflections, refractions, radiosity, texture etc. , making the resulting animation more realistic to the viewer. Dependant on the quality and accuracy the resulting animation can be photo-realistic or can even replicate real life shot on video or film.

2D animation is the creation of moving image in a two-dimensional environment, through both ‘traditional’ cel animation or in computerised animation software. This is done by sequencing consecutive images, or ‘frames’, that simulate motion by each image showing the next in a gradual progression of steps. The eye can be “fooled” into perceiving motion when these consecutive images are shown at a rates faster than the eye can perceive.

Bloom Studio offers visual effects supervision and consultancy where effects are to be added to a film, commercial or TV production. Our VFX supervisor will work closely with the director and producer to meet both artistic visions and budgets.
